PROGRAM ASSISTANT – Mental Health and Addictions Program
Full time (Non Union)


Post-secondary degree in secretarial/business administration studies or related field
Minimum 5 years experience in business or health service administration preferred
Advanced proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, Internet, e-mail, etc.
Proficient keyboarding and word processing skills
Demonstrated abilities in leadership, planning and time management
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Proven ability to work independently and within an interdisciplinary team environment


The Mental Health and Addictions Program Assistant oversees the administrative components of day to day service provision at the Meno Ya Win Mental Health and Addictions Program. Reporting to the MHAP Manager, the Assistant is responsible for providing administrative supervision for clerical staff, and support for clinical staff who are working within MHAP. The Assistant works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary health care team at the Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre to support and enhance the services of MHAP. Duties include, but are not limited to overseeing client scheduling, maintaining client files, ensuring compliance with privacy guidelines, gathering and reporting of statistical information, assisting with the recruitment and training of new clerical staff.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
