Job Description

Qualifications:
• Minimum grade 12 education with post-secondary education or experience in Human Resource Management/Labour relations.
• Diploma, degree and/or CHRP preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of leadership and/or Human Resources experience.
• Excellent computer skills, including MSWord, Email, and Excel.
• Solid problem solving, analytical, oral and written communication skills.
• Must have knowledge of various employment laws and practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
• Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Must be able to gather and analyze information skillfully.
• Ability to work well under pressure, individually and as part of a team.
• Proven conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities:
• Oversees recruiting and staffing logistics, providing efficient and effective recruitment and selection services in accordance with the hospital hiring policies, Employment Standards Act, Collective Agreements and Human Rights Code.
• Assists in all aspects of successful administration of the Collective Agreements, including grievances, negotiations, ratification of union contracts and arbitration hearing.
• Administrates and supports managers in attendance management and disciplinary processes.
• Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and performance management systems and improvement tracking systems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
