Job Description

The Receptionist/Secretary is responsible for performing administrative and clerical support services for all SLFNHA departments (Administration, Client Services Department, Nodin CFI, and Approaches to Community Wellbeing)


• Previous experience in clerical field an asset
• Experience with Microsoft Word computer software
• Previous experience working in the Sioux Lookout Zone health care system would be a definite asset
• Ability to speak a First Nation dialect is a must
• Organizational skills
• Excellent telephone etiquette
• Must have good people skills to deal with the public

Perform regular receptionist, secretarial and office duties by:
• Answering incoming calls and directing calls to appropriate staff;
• Receiving clients and the public and ensuring they are in  a comfortable environment while in the waiting area;
• Ensuring the reception and coffee area are always neat and tidy;
• Bulletin boards are to be kept with up-to-date information;
• Checking washrooms/premises are safe and secure at lunch and at the end of the day
• Ordering of office and  coffee supplies as needed
• Responsible for ensuring that all equipment is in good working order
• Ordering of all printer and fax toners for this building and keeping an inventory of what is on hand
• Receive incoming and outgoing mail/faxes and record in log
• Mail run done daily
• Typing, faxing, copying as requested by management staff
• Shredding, photocopy, and faxing as required
• Ensuring paper is always restocked in copier and fax
• Replenishing of forms, updating forms as required
• Responsible for keeping supply and copier room neat and stocked
• Keep the internal phone list up-to-date and distribute to staff as changes occur
• Keep up the Sign In/Out Board with all the staff and their whereabouts
• Keep the Sign In/Out sheets for two weeks only and send them to HR for filing
• Do business cards for all SLFNHA staff (when covering the Administration office)
• Copying and binding the SLFNHA Policies & Procedures for HR Department (when covering the Administration office)
• Assisting the Executive Assistant as required (when covering the Administration office)
