Sioux-Hudson Employment Services
offers a Resource Centre for the public to access computers, resources and information to aid you in your job search. Additionally, you may wish to book an appointment with an Employment Counselor who can help you in your job search, career exploration and other employment endeavors. All services provided are free of charge and are confidential.

This Employment Ontario service is funded in part by the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario.

Job Seeker Services
  • Access to postings of casual, part-time and full-time employment opportunities in the Sioux Lookout area
  • Access to the internet where you can job search worldwide
  • Use of our computers, fax, photocopier and telephone for employment related purposes
  • Offers various resource materials such as Steps to Successful Interviews and Guidelines for Writing Cover Letters and Resumes.
  • Numerous books available with examples of resumes and cover letters and other career related information.
  • Assistance in developing a job search strategy
  • Advice in preparing a resume and cover letter
  • Information about training courses and educational opportunities in the area
  • Computers to apply for Employment Insurance benefits online or to complete weekly
  • Employment counseling services
  • Guidance with the application process of applying for Employment Ontario funded interventions like Second Career Strategy, Wage Placement & Incentive, Employment Supports, the Canada-Ontario Job Grant, and Youth Job Connect.

 

What Can an Employment Counselor do for You?

An Employment Counselor can help you with many aspects of your job search. Employment Counselors can assist you with writing or updating an existing cover letter and resume, identifying your transferable skills, researching career and job opportunities, practice mock interviews, learn how to job search, assist you with developing your networking skills, provide you with information on Employment Ontario Programs and assist you in applying for government funded interventions such as the Second Career Strategy and Wage Placement & Incentives that can help you become more marketable to employers and get back to work faster.
